How long have you been practicing?

I have been working in mental health for over twenty years and have been in private practice for 15 years.

What is your fee?

My fees are $180 per 45-50 minute session and $270 per 75 minute session. I generally see clients weekly at a regularly scheduled date and time.

Do you offer a free consultation?

I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation. This will provide you with an opportunity to ask any unanswered questions and to determine whether we would be an appropriate fit for therapy. I may also be able to provide you with alternate resources.

Do you take my insurance?

I am not an in network provider for any insurance company. If you have an HMO, Medicare or Medical; the answer is always no. If you have a PPO, POS, etc. then you can check with your insurance company about out of network reimbursement. There are pro’s and con’s to this that can be explained to you by myself or your insurance carrier. What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.

Can I use my Flex Spending Account/ Health Savings Account?

Yes, I accept HSA and Flex Spending Cards. Also you can submit receipts from therapy to your HSA or Flex Spending Provider.

How long does counseling take?

The amount of time needed for counseling is as individual as a person themselves. Most people find that they begin seeing benefit within the first few weeks. Depending on the nature of the issue, counseling can take from 2-3 months up to several years.

Do you prescribe medication?

I do not prescribe medication, but I work closely with many psychiatrists in the community that I can refer you to if it appears that medication would be an appropriate addition to therapy.

Do you offer sessions via telephone or video call?

I offer sessions via telephone, Facetime, and Zoom. I encourage the initial session to be in person.

Do you have any unique methods for Exposure Response Prevention?

Yes, I collaborate with clients to create unique exposure opportunities. I also have an Oculus Headset for Virtual Reality Therapy and make exposure videos for you to watch at home.

What if I’m not sure if my child needs therapy?

I am SPACE Trained by Dr. Eli Lebowtiz. SPACE Training is an evidence based program for the parents of anxious children. This short-term program has the same efficacy rates as putting a child in a course of CBT without the child ever being seen or treated.

Are you available to speak at my event?

I am available for speaking engagements and workshops. I have done presentations on anxiety management for The County of Orange, The Assistance League, Econolite, IOCDF, OCD SoCal and more. I have served as co-therapist to Dr. Reid Wilson in his 2 day treatment program for OCD and consult for Buzzfeed Video and LuciesList regarding mental health issues.
